Change a letter

The question today has five parts with all the answers are words of 7 letters. The relation between them is that as you go from 1 to 5, change one letter in the solution, scramble the word and you get the answer to the next clue.
So, you can start at any question as 1 is a little generic :)

Welcome to the online home of the IIMB quizzing and lits club iQ.
This blog is dedicated to quizzing and lits activities. We aim to have a fresh question ready everyday that will have you googling, binging and hopefully some learning.
Questions will be posted everyday at around 2100 Hrs and the answers and scores for the previous days questions will be posted before that. To answer the question please post it as a comment. We wil publish all comments just before putting up the next question. We will also maintain an online google doc of all the participants and the winner every month is in for something special !
