After 9/11 attacks, major sporting events were cancelled/postponed the following weekend. This includes Liberty cup match between Fordham and Columbia and Superbowl matches. In the Italian Grand Prix, Ferrari team ran with a black tip on their nose, as respect for 9/11.
-In 2001, Ferrari made a tribute to the victims of the Twin Towers. The nose of the car was covered by black.
-During Super Bowl XXXVI tournament, 2002, tribute was paid to the victims of Sept 11 attacks by scrolling the names of victims on a large projection screen while performing the song, "Where the Streets Have No Name".
-The Liberty cup trophy, 2002 ( Between Columbia univ. and Fordham univ) was dedicated to the victims of Sept 11 victims, a year after the Columbia-Fordham game was postponed due to the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. At least 43 Columbia alumni and 39 Fordham alumni and students died.
-Sept 11 Memorial at WTC (Ground zero) depicting the 'firefighters'hosting the US flag at ground zero.
